Known for his appearances in The Social Network and The Lone Ranger, Hammer last appeared in the 2022 mystery Death On The Nile. Months before that film’s release, he faced public accusations of sexual assault from multiple women, all of which he has refuted.

No charges were brought against the actor following an investigation, but Hammer was dropped by his agency and forced to leave the film Shotgun Wedding with Jennifer Lopez. His role in Taika Waititi’s comedy Next Goal Wins also was re-shot, with his character being taken over by Will Arnett.

After some time away, during which he was reportedly selling time shares in The Cayman Islands, Hammer has now told the podcast Your Mom’s House that his reputation in the industry has shifted, with offers of work coming in. “The worm is turning, it takes time,” he said. “And that feels really good. It’s really encouraging.”

Having launched his own podcast, titled The Armie HammerTime Podcast, and with new film Frontier Crucible out this year, he revealed he is busier than ever and he’s now turning jobs down.

“My dance card’s getting pretty full”. he said. “That first job that I turned down after four years of this shit, I mean, it was the best feeling I’ve ever had.”

Later on in the podcast, Hammer also talked about the many actors and directors he’s worked with over the years. Particular praise was reserved for Henry Cavill, whom he worked with on 2015 action film The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

“Henry is great because he is there to work. He’s there to do his job” he said. “Very professional, I would say even very guarded. So you don’t really get in. I like getting in there. So I’d be like, ‘Henry! Come on buddy.’ I’d antagonise him and just barge into his trailer and be like, ‘What’s up, bro?’ And he’d be like, ‘Hello? What are you doing? This is my trailer.’ But we had a great time.”

Touching on the 2021 accusations, the actor also described how it felt to be accused of cannibalism fantasies, describing it as feeling “naked in front of the world”.
