Geese raffle off a flat tyre and perform ‘First World Warrior’ during their Denver show

geese getting killed album review

Geese gave fans at their Denver show a unique experience by raffling off a flat tyre as part of their set.

The NYC indie heroes made their stop in Denver on Monday night (October 20) as part of the North American tour in support of their acclaimed 2025 album ‘Getting Killed‘, when the crowd were treated to the special auction. After getting a flat tyre on the road to the show, which took place at Denver’s Gothic Theatre, the band decided to raffle it off in aid of Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition.

The tyre raffle ended up being won by a fan called Grant, who got a phone call from frontman Cameron Winter on stage during the encore of the show.

In addition to auctioning off a flat tyre and making the announcement on stage, the group also made their Denver show special by live tour debuting their track ‘First World Warrior’ from Geese’s 2021 debut ‘Projector’, which is a fan favourite.

In a glowing five-star review of ‘Getting Killed’NME wrote: “There’s so much going on in this album that it feels like it would have been easy for the five-piece to lose sight of the bigger picture, yet for all its abrupt shifts and intricate details, ‘Getting Killed’ somehow doesn’t ever feel like there’s too much at play or like its creators aren’t in complete control.

“Instead, this is a band living up to their reputation as exhilaratingly free-spirited, not so much proving they deserve all the accolades and fervent fanaticism bubbling around them but demanding it.”

Geese’s previous album, ‘3D Country’, appeared on NME‘s 50 best albums of 2023 list, where it was hailed for capturing “a sound far more expansive than most bands at this stage of their career”.
